What Happens to Manchester City When I Leave? Guardiola Responds
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has addressed concerns about his potential departure, insisting the club will continue to thrive without him.
In an interview with The Guardian, Guardiola expressed confidence in City’s stability, saying: “I am quite sure that it will be here… Life goes on. The earth continues to spin.”
With his contract up for renewal, Guardiola is weighing his options. However, he emphasized that City’s success is not dependent on one person. “It would be a bad sign for the club if everything slowed down after one person leaves,” he said.
Guardiola acknowledged that mistakes might be made but expressed faith in the club’s management to find solutions. “They will maybe make mistakes, but they will also solve these,” he added.
Txiki Begiristain’s departure after 12 years also prompted Guardiola to reflect on the club’s adaptability. “With Txiki leaving and maybe me too, it’s normal to think we can’t leave, but it’s clear we can move on.”
Guardiola’s comments demonstrate his humility and recognition that his time at Manchester City will eventually end. However, he is confident the club’s legacy will endure.
